Description
Plasma-Wave plots various types of plasma on screen and color cycles them.
Plasmas are patterns generated by applying functions across each pixel in a grid using the grid coordinates as inputs. The functions frequently use trigonometric functions (i.e. sin/cosine) to keep output values within a valid range (typically 0-255), since for instance, sin(x) will always be between -1 and 1. Fractal or other functions or methods, like value scaling, can also be used.
Ports
- 1999: Ported to Windows: An alpha version for Windows was released, but it's unclear if/how it improved on the MS-DOS version as there is no documentation. It likely implements some additional patterns, but failed to provide promised options from the MS-DOS readmes, such as high resolution support.
